How to load rule sets and generate a preview
STEP 1: LOADING NIYOW
You can load NIYoW by going to Start => Programs => Name It Your Way (NIYoW) => Name It Your Way (NIYoW)
STEP 2: Loading fiLes
We will use the List mode to add files since this mode is more flexible and enables us to add files from several locations at once. In addition, using the Instant-Preview feature, which is unique to this mode, you are able to preview the new names without being need to generate them manually. The Add Files frame is shown below in figure 1.1:
Figure 1.1
If you're not in List mode (meaning you can't see the above screen when loading NIYoW), click on the "Switch to List Mode" button to switch to List mode.
To add files to the list click on the Add button and choose one the available options to load files or folders to the list.
STEP 3: IMPORT RULES SET
When all files are finally loaded, we can continue importing our sample rules set.
First, save the rules file (.rls) file somewhere on your computer. It's recommended you'll save all sets in one location to make it easier to find later.
Now, click on the Import button and choose the location where you saved the set. The rules will be loaded from the file to the rules list.
STEP 4: Generate preview
In List mode, you do not need to manually preview the new names. Using the Instant-Preview feature, the new names are automatically generated and shown under the "New Name" column of the Add Files frame.
If you can't see this column, the Instant-Preview feature may not be enabled. To turn it on, check the Instant Preview box.
